Unique places to get married

Unique places to get married

There are some couples that don’t like to follow the norm. Some don’t want to wear a white dress and a tuxedo. Some want to serve cupcakes instead of a wedding cake. And some couples like to think outside of the box and get married at a fun, sometimes unusual, and always uniquely different location than any other couple has before them.

A couple in North Dakota got married at their local McDonald‘s, where the bride and groom had met while working there. Although some couples might object to marrying in a fast food restaurant, the fact that they had met there and that it was there where the relationship had started was more significant to them than anything else. If you feel comfortable, mention the idea to your boss. An added plus would be that you would probably not have to pay for the venue!

For the adventure lovers, consider getting married at a theme park or your favorite rollercoaster at the state fair. After the ceremony is performed at the boarding platform, have the bride, groom, and wedding party hop on the ride and take it for a spin! Other exciting venues include zoos or hot air balloons. Some of these locations might require you to rent out a specific space, while others might just charge you the price of admission.

Some couples are deciding to take the plunge–literally! A company called Marriage in the Sky offers a 20 seat platform that is lifted 164 feet into the air! The couple chooses the location, which means there are endless possibilities for the background of your ceremony. There is also an option to bungee jump off of the platform after you say ‘I do!’ Although this is one of the more expensive ideas for a fun wedding, it will be extremely thrilling and memorable!

Themed weddings are another great way to step away from the norm and be different. Schedule your wedding on Halloween in the middle of a cemetery or haunted house and have all of your guests wear their scariest costumes. Book a trip to Disney and dress like a prince and princess as you marry in the Magic Kingdom. As long as you use both of your imaginations and ideas, the sky is the limit!

Whether you want to stand out from the crowd or have a wedding that reflects your shared interest, choosing a fun and unusual venue for your ceremony will certainly set you apart from others!
