Green Button Events was created and founded by Dr. Ann Pohira-Vieth. Ann has over 10 years experience working in event management, fund raising with various non-profit organizations, and throwing themed parties.
Conducting themed wedding and parties is Ann’s true passion. She has thrown baby showers, decorative Halloween parties, birthday parties, Superbowl parties, and weddings. Ann can work within any budget no matter how big or how small. Since she has been a resident of the Orlando area for over 30 years, Ann has long standing connections with various wedding and party vendors in Central Florida and can assist with meeting the most difficult of requests.
In 2000, Ann received a MS in Sport Management from Georgia Southern University. There she gained hands on experience working with the Heritage Foundation in Hilton Head South Carolina to conduct both the Junior Golf Championship and the PGA Tour event held at Sea Pines. From there, Ann went on to teach Sport Management at Saint Leo University and earn her MBA simultaneously. While at Saint Leo, she worked directly with the Central Florida Sports Commission where she planned and ran the NCAA DII golf championship in 2004. Ann has also worked other NCAA championships, various other college, amateur and professional sporting events.
In 2004, Ann received her MBA from Saint Leo University. Then in 2010, Ann completed her PhD from the University of Southern Mississippi in Human Performance and Recreation. While completing her degrees, Ann presented her research at various academic conferences. In addition to conducting sporting events and her own higher ed training, Ann has trained hundreds of volunteers to work in different capacities for non-profit organizations. Further she has written and developed event management plans, sport marketing plans, and strategic management plans. She has conducted research studies involving survey distribution and data analysis.
Ann has been active with numerous non-profit organizations. In 2004, she joined the board of the Florida Women’s State Golf Association and was elected President in 2009. There she helped raise money for the annual scholarship fund, helped conduct charity auctions, and helped plan and conduct other various fund raising events. While teaching at Saint Leo University, Ann worked with her students conducting events to raise money for Hurricane Katrina Victims, the Tampa 4-H club, and conducted a canned food drive for Farm Worker’s Self Help.
